Maybe this site will be helpful. http://www.vfr.net/%7enusong/greengen/green1.html Linda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sports Law" <Gesetzlich@knology.net> To: <GREEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 4:02 PM Subject: [GREEN] Fw: More children for Jeremiah in Haywood, Jackson, Swain NC > Trying this again > > Subject: More children for Jeremiah in Haywood, Jackson, Swain NC > > > Thanks to everyone who responded to my queries in the last few days, many about Arkansas, I will get back to that. Since there are so many hard working Greens out there, maybe someone can help me see the forest for the trees!! > > Recently on a trip to the Union County SC library a lady came in who had lived there her whole life. As it turns out she had two Green lines, one from her mom and one from her dad, and they did not appear to be related. > > One line led up to Jeremiah Green and Mary Wiseman. Sometimes her info is off by one year or one day, but overall her information is extremely close to what I saw on the websites!! But she had a few additional children listed. ie George born 1806 Haywood County, NC., William born abt 1788, Thomas born abt 1790, Jacob born May 7, Silas born abt 1804 (my Jackson County NC Heritage Book shows Green Creek NC is named after him) and Nathan born abt 1806. All these guys were in the counties of Haywood, Jackson, Swain NC. > > George born 1806 (from above) married Nancy Gasperson, their son Silas married Lucy Sutton, their son Leander married Agnes Quilliams. Further down is the connection to Union Co. SC. > > Her other line was Nathaniel Mar Green born 1873 married Mary Magdelena "Maggie" Fore. > > Comments are greatly appreciated. If I can connect the additional children to Jeremiah, I may just see a light at the end of the tunnel! > > Thank you very much > Tammy Lynn Collard > > > ==== GREEN Mailing List ==== > Thanks for sharing information and queries with your fellow family researchers > > ============================== > Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration > Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial. I am still going through all the wonderful Green sites, but I want to throw some info out that I got today in Laurens County, SC to see if anyone connects. David Green (late 1700s and 1800s) was a line from Laurens County, and went to Warren Co Tenn, who lived next door to Elias H. Green. David may be Reverend. Some connection to Chichester Matthews and Wolcot of Kentucky. George W. Green from Laurens married Nancy Mahem Dec 1855 Pentetoe Co Miss. General Nathan Greene brought his Army of Regulars to Star Fort May 22, 1781, troops were from Connecticut, Pennyslvania, NC, and Virginia. Listed on the 1840 Census of Pensioners NC William Wood Sr. and George Green SR. Buried Liberty Springs Presbyterian William Green 29 Dec 1788 - 17 Jan 1851 Frances 29 Aug 1790 - 15 Oct 1850 WW 10 FEb 1825 21 Jan 1845 A major connection made for myself was that W Wood Green is my Great Great Grandfather, 1880 Laurens Co census shows he was born in Connecticut, but ???? Thank you Tammy Lynn Collard
