I have an ancestor who was born in Eastern Tennessee. His name is Gilbert GREENE, and he was born 12 February 1824 in Hawkins County. At one time, I thought that he was in some way connected to someone named Elijah, but dismissed that for lack on evidence. His ancestors are unknown to me, but I do know that he had a sister named Ruth and a brother named William. There is also evidence to suggest that he may have also had siblings named Amzie, Gulford, Henderson, Mandy, Martha and Isaac. So far I can't prove any of these connections. There were eleven (11) brothers and a sister, Sarah Green. John SR and a brother Elias (Elisha) Green, settled in Platte Co. MO., far from Fort Leavenworth. Elias (Elisha) Green married Lindy (Melinda) Green. Linday maiden was Green but they were not related."
