GA NOTE: Ogelthorpe was formed in 1793 from Wilkes Co, GA! md. 1st Tabitha GREEN abt. 1769 but where? b. bef. 1755 Bute Co, NC d. aft son Burwell is born in 1781 Her Father: Burwell GREEN b. ? d. ? Her Mother: Savannah WYATT b. ? d. ? CHILDREN: Here's where the challenges come! Because of the names of Tabitha's parents, it would stand to reason that her children by Ornan Whatley would be: 1) WYATT b. 1770 . . . her mother's maiden name, Wilkes Co., GA 2) Tabitha . . . her name! (NOTE: 2nd wife Judith surely wouldn't have named a daughter for Ornan's FIRST wife!) 3) Wilson b. 21 Feb 1775, Wilkes Co., GA 4) Elizabeth b. 1779 according to 1830 GA Census NOTE: I believe that THIS is the Elizabeth Whatley who md. Edmund Carlisle and named a son GREEN Whatley Carlisle! (Yet to be proven.) 5) Polly b. 1780 md. Thomas HEARD & named a son, WYATT Thomas Heard 6) BURWELL b. 23 Dec 1781 . . . named for her father Deed showing Ornan Whatley with wife Judah in 1785 Ornan Whatley's children by Judah/Judith Thornton: 1) Ornan Bradley, Jr. b. 1785 2) Rebecca b. 15 Aug 1787 NOTE: Given names Burwell, Wyatt, Green and Ornan continue through the generations in Whatley and related branches of this family!
