    3. In his book, "Descendants of Joseph Greene of Westerly, R.I. including other branches of the Greenes of Quidnesset, or Kingston, R.I., and other lines of Greenes in America" Frank L. Greene shows the following lineage: JOHN GREENE of Quidnessett, RI BENJAMIN2 GREENE born about 1665 RI JOHN3 GREENE born about 1688 RI BENJAMIN4 GREENE born 1719 RI JONATHAN5 GREENE born 30 Apr 1749 RI JOHN6 GREENE born about 1776 probably in RI and settled in Sriba, Oswego County, NY JOHN H7 GREEN born ??; married Amelia Crowfoot; was a cooper REUBEN8 GREEN settled in MI (my great-grandfather) The problem occurs between generations 6 and 7. I have confirmed through censsus records that the John H. Green, occupation cooper, who married Lucinda Amelia Crofoot and had a son Reuben who settled in Michigan was born in 1825. This would mean that his father, JOHN6, was age 49 when he was born. Isn't this a little unusual? Also, an 1865 census shows this JOHN H GREEN as being born in Herkimer County, NY. I did find another John Greene living in Herkimer County in the 1830 census with a male child of the correct age to be JOHN H7 - or rather JOHN H8 if my theory is correct. Could there be a generation that Frank L. Greene missed? Has this apparent discrepancy been researched by anyone else? Frederick Green Colorado Springs, CO
