Did I read John? I have a John who seemingly sprang up full grown! Census records say he was born in 1812 in SC. In 1850, he was in Randolph Co., AL. He was John Cephas Green. In 1840, he was listed in Carroll Co., GA, and he married in 1836 in Coweta Co., GA, to Nancy T. Huckeba. They named their children Samuel W., Henry T., Thomas P., Elizabeth C., Martha Matilda, Andrew H., James Crawford, Sarah F., Lucious Leroy, Sallie J., and John C., in case any names sound familiar... John & Nancy apparently came to AL around 1841. Nancy was daughter of William and Sarah (Brown) Huckeba, and sister of William Benson Huckaby, who was said to have served in the GA Militia with John C. Green during the Creek War in 1836. Elisabeth
