I dont have a Colonial Days recipe, but do have a family recipe that according to my late father Charles Greene ( yes, named after the infamous Charles FM Greene that is from under a rock that Im still searching for any info on, Any info at all... ) has been in the Greene Family since "before the Civil War". It is a recipe for Bean Soup and Im more than happy to share it with what ever Greene/Green cousins that might like to have it. Its really simple, and a darned good winter time soup. Just let me know. BTW, it calls for Worchestershire sauce and I Think that would date it no earlier than 1830 ( the soup isnt the same without it either).
