I know this probably is not your Greene line--but I haven't had much luck with my Canadian Greene either. I am looking for information on Thomas Greene (b. 9/6/1861 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada d. 8/13/1918 in Toledo, OH). I believe his father was also named Thomas and came from Ireland. He married Carrie Schlachter of Toledo, OH, and he served with the Toledo Police Department for 25 years. He died in a questionable hit and run accident while working as a guard in a Toledo park. They had 3 children: William, Loretta, and Gertrude.
