    1. [GREEN-L] Loyalist Greens?
    2. Marcia Greene
    3. My husband's family has been at a standstill in researching the roots of William Green, who went to Nova Scotia in 1783, with "the New York Loyalists" as it was put. He was probably a young man, since we know he married an Elizabeth Cronk Oct 21, 1789 in Digby, NS. he later moved to Grand Manan, a small island off the coast of Maine, but part of New Brunswick, Canada. In 1806, he received a land grant there, having never applied for one in Nova Scotia. I haven't a clue about whether he was originally from New York, or just was a part of the group that left at the same time. If anyone can shed some light on how and where to proceed, I would really appreciate it. Thank you, Marcia Greene in Maine (the 'e' was added by my father-in-law's grandfather. All other descendents still on Grand Manan are 'e'-less!)
