I have nothing concrete to relate regarding your Adelia, but there is a family of Greens, from whom I and a number of other people on this list and elsewhere are descended. The oldest known male was a Peter Green (b. c.1830/40 France? - d.3 Aug 1803, Southfields, Orange, NY). He and his wife, Susannah King, had six sons and five daughters and they in turn had many children. We have no Adelia in our family tree, but we know the names for only a few of Peter and Susannah's great grandchildren. We do have an Adeline, but she was born about 1840/45 but she married a David Shurts and their offspring are unknown. Although Peter and Susannah lived and died in the Ramapo Mountains where Peter worked as a stone mason and smith in the Sterling Iron Works, many of his descendants migrated toward Paterson, NJ and settled in Bergen and Passaic Counties where there was more reliable industrial employment than at the iron mines and forges of the Ramapos. Kelvin Kean Elverson, Pennsylvania P.S. Incidentally, this Green family is not known to be related to any other Greens found in 18th century Orange County or Northern New Jersey. They seem to have sprung up on their own.
