Hi John, Here is the info I have on my family. William Green, born February 6, 1762 in Prince Edward County, Virginia. He married Kezziah Patton, born about 1763, in her parents home in Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina on January 9, 1781. Several cousins have spent many years attempting to identify the parents of these two pioneers. Their children were: 1. Thomas S. Green, born October 24, 1781 in Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina, and married Sarah Harden in 1805 in Burke County, NC. Thomas died in 1857 in Georgia. 2. John Green, born about 1784 either in Orange or Burke County, NC. Nothing else is know about John except he MAY have gone to Texas to fight in the Texas revolution. 3. William Mercer Green, born about 1786 in Burke County, NC. He married Nancy Porter October 29, 1811 in Burke County, NC, and the couple moved to Haywood County, NC where their son William M. Green was born. The couple moved their family to Georgia in about 1830 where both died. William died March 24, 1847 in Carroll County, Georgia. This is my direct line. 4. Sarah "SallY" Green, born about 1790 in Burke County, NC, and married Matthew Hicks January 27, 1814 in Burke County, NC. Both died about 1843 in Carroll County, Georgia. 5. Silas M. Green, born about 1796 in Burke County, NC, and married Sarah W. Horton January 10, 1848 in Franklin County, Tenn. Silas died August 7, 1892. 6. Martha "Mattie" Green, born about 1801 in Burke County, NC, She married Charles Justice and Austin Pack. 7. Elizabeth Green, born about 1803 in Burke County, NC, and married Mr. Allen. 8. Anderson Clyde Green, born about 1806 in Burke County, NC, and married Sarah "Sallie" Morrison about 1827 in Haywood County, NC. Anderson Green moved to Texas and became a preacher. He died June 10, 1891 in Upshur County, NC. 9. Tillman Green born about 1810 in Burke County, NC and MAY have married Mary "Winnie" Daniels September 3, 1838 in Stewart County, Tennessee. Tillman died about 1850. 10. There also MAY have been a child named Elijah Green who died young, but this is speculation due the the belief that William Green, Sr. had a brother named Elijah Green. William Green, Sr. died in Haywood County, NC March 2, 1837. Kezziah Patton Green moved to Carroll County, NC with several of her children where she died August 1, 1849. She is believed to be buried in Carroll County, Georgia next to her son William Mercer Green and his wife Nancy Porter Green. They are buried in a family cemetery called Old Bethel Cemetery located near Villa Ricka, Georgia. I am posting this info to the Green list in hopes some one will be able to add to the family history. Hope this helps you in some way. Tom Green TBGreen3@aol.com
