Hi All, First off, my compliments to Sue Pawley on her recommended website regarding Proof. For those who haven't read it, it is well worth the while. I was reviewing some of printed information sent by Ann Mensch to Ron Green (my cousin.) I found two Farnifold Green wills. The one dated 1759 has to be Farnifold III, since he mentions sons James, Joseph and John. He also mentions children Titus and Mary. This meshes with Alonzo Thomas Dill's accounts. The will of 1774 is probably Farnifold II. He mentions children Elizabeth, John, Farnifold and Mary. I will transcribe these for reference in the future, if someone is interested. A bond for marriage between James Green, Jr. and Margaret Cogdell is dated 20 Oct 1777 and signed by bondsman Wm. Pastuer and witness Wm. Fullerton. Based on that (supposedly) primary evidence, there is NO WAY that Margaret Cogdell can be the mother of our Gideon, born in Anson County in 1755. I think this also discredits the Farnifold to James Jr. (son of Farnifold) descendancy, but does not prove it, either. It seems that the preponderance of evidence supports this. Bill
