    1. Re: [GREEN-L]Robert Green family in the war.
    2. In a message dated 98-09-15 10:27:04 EDT, you write: << Tom, in which county was Robert Green living? Are you sure he is the same Robert Green that was in the Revolution, you realize if he was born in 1695, he would have been over 80 during the Revolutionary War? Also what do you know about his son John Green? Louise >> Hi Louise, Did I ever answer your above message? I don't recall answering you, but if I did, please ignore this message. Robert Green, born 1695 died in 1748 in what was then Orange County, Virginia. He had lived most of his life in Culpeper County, VA and owned over 40,000 acres of land when he died. His will was over 50 pages long! His oldest son Col. Wiliam Green, born about 1727, was too old to have fought in the American Revolution and probably got his title in the Militia fighting Indians. Duff Green died about the time the Revolution started, and Nicholas Green died about 1778, so he either died in the war or did not participate. Of course, Col. John Green was the hero of the family, but not only did his three sons participate, but His brother James Green was a Major in the war. Brother Moses Green was a Lt. in the war, but I don't know what part he took during the war. Can you fill in any details? Tom Green
