Hello everyone, I sent a query about Angelina Ziegenfuss Green a week or so ago. I didn't hear anything then, but I've gotten some more info so I'd pass it along to see if it helps. Angelina lived in Northampton, PA from about 1830 to about 1840. She lived in the household of her maternal Uncle, John Ziegenfuss. In 1841, in Wake County, NC she married John Jordan Upchurch. They lived in NC til sometime after 1846. At that time, according to his memoirs, JJU left NC and went looking for work. He mentions that in the 1850's while he was traveling around, Angelina and her children (only 7 of her 15 children are known at this time, it is believed that most of the others, died in PA before reaching adulthood) were living in Washington County, PA either with or near (the memoir does not make that clear) both her maternal Ziegenfuss relatives and her paternal Green relatives, but he does not name them. If I could even find out who the Green families in Northampton and Washington counties in PA were, it would give me a starting point for the searches there. As it is, all I know is that Angelina Ziegenfuss Green was born in PA on 8 Dec 1825. Her parents were both dead by 1830 and she lived at that time in Northampton County near Lower Nazareth Township. Her husband believed that her father was a man named Solomn Green, and her mother's maiden name was Ziegenfuss. She apparently still had Green relatives in Washington Co, PA as late as 1850, and Ziegenfuss relatives as well. Any clues anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
