My gr-grandmother was EMILY LOU "ETTA" GREEN, born 8 Dec 1877 ARK. to WILLIAM T. "BILL" GREEN b. 1849 ARK and SUSAN BLACKWOOD b. Nov. 1849 ARK. It is believed that William T. Green may have descended from the "Red Headed" Greens. "Etta" Green was red-headed and so was her sister, Mattie C. Green. No later than 1900 EMILY LOU "ETTA" GREEN married JOSEPH "BENJAMIN" or "BEN" WHISENHUNT b. Jan 1872 ARK (son of JOSIAH or JOSEPH B. WHISENHUNT and PARTHENA WHITE.) "Ben" Whisenhunt later died 24 Dec 1919 at Muddy Fork, HOWARD CO., ARK., during the influenza epidemic during extreme wet conditions that was so bad that the wagon wheels carrying his coffin to the cemetery got "bogged" down. She married BARNEY TILLMAN MASON, SR. in 19 Feb 1918, ARK.
