Lucretia Green m Egbert Lewis Captain Richard Hill (1720-1775) lived in the southern section of Surry County, VA, which became Sussex County. On Nov 16, 1742, William Gilliam of the Parish of Albemarle, "for love and good will to my daughter Margery and her husband, Richard Hill", gave them 200 acres of land beginning at a tree between John Gilliam and LEWIS GREEN, adjoining Col. Bolling and the Miery Marsh, with reversion, is no issue, to his son William Gilliam. Witnesses were WILLIAM GREEN, PETER GREEN and WILLIAM GREEN, Jr. (Surry county Deed bk 4, p.64). ...... Nathaniel Green is mentioned, pertaining to some land. ..... Will of Richard Hill dated Oct 3, 1774, witnessed by John Chamblis, Willian Winfield and Burrell Green. Margery Gilliam (w/o Richard Hill) was the daughter of William Gilliam (ca 1704-1764) and his wife Susanna Green, dau of Lewis Green.
