Okay. I found something substantial in Cincinnati, Ohio in the late 1850s and early 1860s. There was a Russell Green, Solomon Green (physician), William Green all living on Front Street. In 1863 I found our long lost Jane Armstrong and her daughter, Jenny Armstrong, living or working next to this family of Greens. Jane was listed as a servant per the city directory. The addresses are as follows: Russell Green, 1523 E. Front, Solomon L. Green, physician, 1524 E. Front, William Green, 1521 E. Front, and my Jane Armstrong, servant, 1525 E. Front. Her daughter, Jenny, or a close relative named Jenny, appears to be living at 236 W. 6th. I also found a Mrs. A.M. Green living at 60 W. 6th and our elusive John Green (not John A. Green) living at 61 W. 6th. The entry for Jenny's occupation reads as follows: Armstrong, Jenny b. h. 236 W. 6th (could be 266 W. 6th, hard to read). Since Jenny is too young to be working in 1863 I presume it is a relative named Jenny. In no other year has these Armstrong listings shown up. Does anyone recognize this Green family? It is the first time I have actually found any Greens connected to my Jane Armstrong besides her husband, Matthew Green, and I would appreciate it very much if someone could look up any census information on these Greens. They appear to be in the 17th Ward of Cincinnati in 1870.
