    3. Hello all Green researchers. I rec'd this email from Bobby Green Brown who is very new to all this 'list' stuff. I am posting it to the list in hopes to get some help for Bobby. Thanks all and I told Bobby how to subscribe, etc. Also, I am still looking for info on Jane Green who married Patrick McCahan in 1795 in Miflin/Juniata County PA. Thanks again. There is no Jane Green in any of my research. But I only go back to my gggrandfather, William Staats Green. He is well documented after his arrival in Alabama some time before 1835 when he married Amy Browning. They raised 15 of 23 children to adulthood. Lost 3 in Civil War. But none on my direct line. My mother and a cousin worked for 30 years trying to trace WSG back to Troy, New York where he was supposedly born 8 Aug 1799. Was married there had a wife and three children, they died and he left and joined the Navy (no record exist in Navy, Coast Guard, Maritime Service or Merchant Marines). But was supposed to have come to Al with a land grant but no record of this exists either. I feel strongly that his middle name(Staats) is a family name either mother or grandmother. I have been unable to find any information on him in and around Troy or Renssalaer county,NY. Jacob Staats will in Maryland lists a daughter, Ann, married to a Jacob Green but time frame is wrong. I'm sure you didn't want to hear all of this but I am trying to get the word out with the hopes of making a connection back to Dr.John Green, who came to Mass. in1642. Good to hear from a cousin, no matter how far removed. Good luck and I'll remember Jane as I continue my Green research.
