The line back from Robert Greene of Gillingham to Sir Henry Greene is where the names and documentation are questionable. Some researchers believe that Robert Greene was the son of John "The Fugitive" Greene, born about 1448, and that John was the son of Thomas Greene born about 1420, who was the son of Thomas Greene born about 1397, who was the son of Sir Henry Greene, beheaded in 1399.
