    3. This is the content of the letter written by Willis Raymond Adams b. 9 May 1896, St Joseph, MO. Son of William E. Adams & Rosa Catherine Adams. They were first cousins and divorced after Willis was born. (I am assuming they were married, have never been able to confirm.) All the half siblings that he knew about are listed here, he was in extremely good mind at the time we were writing to each other. He is my husband's grandfather. He married Mildred Larsen in 1918, we don't know where. We do have a wedding picture, but they ran off to marry. Mildred was in San Francisco with her family at the time. Mildred was born 15 Jun 1899, San Francisco, CA. d. 14 Apr 1978, Concord, CA. Willis died 13 Apr 1984, Fayetteville, Arkansas, in the VA hospital. He is buried in the Monett, Barry, MO., Cemetery. They had these children: 1 . George Raymond Adams b. 10 Nov 1918, Pawnee, Pawnee, OK 2. Scott Marion Adams b. 6 Nov 1920, Fairfax, Osage, OK. 3. Albert Leslie Adams b. 14 Jun 1923, Bolivar, Polk, MO. 4. Wilma May Adams b. 30 May 1925, Concord, Contra Costa, CA. The letter goes as follows: dated Nov 23, 1976, Monett, MO. Dear Mrs. Adams and Roy (my husband and I were just married, hence the formality.) I got your letter yesterday. I was sure glad to hear from you, and to get the pictures, many thanks. Thanks a million for them. I don't have a picture of Roy, just Edith, Scott and the girls. They must not have had Roy yet. I will put the pictures in a frame and fasten them to the wall. I got a lot of pictures, and Minnies what nots and ect... I looked for a picture of Grandma and Grandpa, but I didn't find but one of Grandpa. I must have give the two I had to Jean when she was here a year ago last May. I had their picture on the wall so I taken them down and Sinclair Rogers photographer, will make me one of each. I will get them about the first of Dec. and will send them to you. I will send you our wedding pictures this time, I hope you both like it. I think Roy is a very nice looking man, and you are a very nice looking lady. I just hope you both stay together and make a happy life for you both. Minnie and I just lacked 9 days bieng married 25 years, and that old cancer got her. She worked like a dog for these people in a cafe, and house work in the old hotel in Purdy, and in the beauty parlor in Purdy. I told her that I would make a living for both of us, and I did. She never worked out anymore for our twenty five years. We owned and sold 1.2 acres, three houses and lots, one 12 ft X 60 foot trailer home in that time. We owned 9 head of cows, on the 20 acres one time. I had the twenty acres when we got married, we sold it and bought it back 4 times. I think it would be a mistake for you and Roy to go to Utah, you know, Roy was born out there and can get work. And Utah is Mormon country. It gets cold in the winter time and it's hot in the summer. I hope I am not trying to tell you what to do, or where to go, but for me, I would stay there. I did good in Concord, but things didn't go like they should for me. I have did very well here. Minnie and I were well off, but when I lost her, I sure been broken up since. I don't have anyone but Jean, and she had a stroke on Jul 2nd and was in the hospital till Jul 9th. That was after she went home from visiting me. It will be two years next July. If I had my legs in good shape, I could work right along with the young folks, but I am crippled for life. I walk with crutches. I walked this fore noon, 2 1/4 miles, and I will walk another mile or so this afternoon. I only got half sisters and brothers. Some I don't know anything about them. One I never seen. Elmer Smith was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma, about 1910. Lodusky Marie Smith was born at Pawnee, Oklahoma, I don't know just what year, but around 1912. My half sister Goldie Adams was born in St Joseph, MO. about 1/2 mile from where I was born. She was born Aug. 8th, 1900. And Dora Adams was born in Utah about 1902. She was 6 years younger than I am. Robert Adams was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, I think 1897. Frank Adams was born in St Joseph, I don't know the date, but he was born between Robert and Dora. Mildred can write Dora if she knows where she is. I don't know. I hope this will help you out. So write when you can, All my love and best wishes to you all. Another stamp for you, and Jeans name and address. Willis. Does this sound familiar to anyone out there? I have some others too. But this had the siblings in it's content. Rose Adams in CA.
