I also have William Green father of Annis, Sarah, Dorcas, Mary, Jael and William from Stafford Co. Va. some of whom went to Halifax Co NC. and married into the Mercer family. My line married into the Whittington family (whose mother was a Gilliam) into the Cottingham line and then back into the Green line in Copiah Co, Ms. Barbara :) Captain Richard Hill (1720-1775) lived in the southern section of Surry County, VA, which became Sussex County. On Nov 16, 1742, William Gilliam of the Parish of Albemarle, "for love and good will to my daughter Margery and her husband, Richard Hill", gave them 200 acres of land beginning at a tree between John Gilliam and LEWIS GREEN, adjoining Col. Bolling and the Miery Marsh, with reversion, is no issue, to his son William Gilliam.
