JUDGE JOHN. GREEN, (5--2), of "Waveland," Boyle Co., Ky., b. Jan. 4, 1786, in Va.; d. Sept. 30, 1838, at "Waveland," served as Brigade Major on the Staff of Gen. Calmes, and distinguished himself at the Battle of the Thames; served as Representative from Lincoln, 1818; State Senator from 1826 to 1832; Judge of the Circuit Court, 1834-38; as a Lawyer and Judge he was distinguished. He m. (first) Sarah A. Fry, dau. of Joshua and Peachy (Walker) Fry; (second) Mary Keith (Marshall) Paxton, wid. of James A. THOMAS MARSHALL GREEN, (6--7), of "Ancorage," Maysville, Ky., b. March 12, 1837, at "Waveland," Boyle Co., Ky.; educated at Center College, edited the Frankfort Commonwealth, 1857-60, and later the Maysville Eagle. He was a candidate for Congress, 1866; and in 1868 was elector for Seymour. He was a decided Union man. He m. (first) April 27, 1860, Anne E. Butler, b. July 20, 1840; d. June 11, 1881; dau.
