Adams that lived across the river in Benton-Calhoun, AL per Jerry Jones (jbjones1@hooper.net) The Hudgins were of Surry/Sussex Cos., VA. Intermarriage with the LEWIS surname and also the BURWELL (Burrell) surname. The Burrell surname goes back to Jamestown settlement. Later Thomas Hudgins lived in Person Co., NC in the late 1700s. Thomas died on his plantation in Sussex Co., VA. Thomas had sons Burrell & Carter Hudgins. The Burwells were of Gloucester Co., VA, Mecklenburgh Co., VA, New Kent Co., VA and James City Co., VA.
