Hi Helen, You posted a message to the Rowanroots list in Dec. 19, 1998 asking for the parents of Sarah Anne Hartley, and I wanted you to know that there are a number of people researching this family on the Green list, so I am posting my reply on both list in hopes that someone will be able to help you. I do not know the parents of Sarah Anne Hartley, and in fact did not know that was her name. I show her name as Joanna Hartley, which is probably a nick name. My interest has been the Jeremiah Green, born February 17, 1755 in New Jersey, who married Mary Wiseman. This Jeremiah Green was the brother of Richard Green, who was the father of the Jeremiah who married your Sarah Anne Hartley. The father of the first Jeremiah Green was Judge William Green who built the fitst brick home in the area about 1717, as I recall. The home still stands on the campus at Trenton, NY. Others have great detail on this family if you are researching the family. I had a cousin who died in the 1960's who spent many years attempting to prove that our William Green, born February 6, 1762 in Prince Edward County, Virginia was the son or grandson of Jeremiah Green who came to the Jersey Settlement on the Yadkin River. If you happen to see anything that might help me identify the parents of my William Green please forward it on to me. I hope this message will help you find the ancestors you are searching for. Merry Christmas! Tom Green
