WILLIS GREEN, (4--3), of Lincoln Co., Va., served as Lieut. in Grayson's Reg., Revolutionary War; he resigned in 1778 [p.241] and went to Kentucky; he represented Jefferson Co., in the Virginia Assembly, 1783; appointed Clerk of Lincoln Co. (which at that time embraced one-third of all Kentucky), 1783, and held the office until 1792, when Kentucky became a State, and afterwards until 1814. Served as Deputy Registrar of Virginia Land Office for Kentucky from 1783 to 1792; and as member of the first Convention held in Kentucky, which formed the first and second Constitutions of Kentucky, 1785 and 1788.
