    2. In a message dated 98-12-13 03:29:01 EST, you write: << DUFF GREEN, (3--3), of Fauquier Co., Va., d. before 1776; m. (first) Miss Barbour; (second) Ann Waller, dau. of Col. Benjamin Waller, of Williamsburg, Va.; (third) Ann Willis, dau. of Col. Henry and Mildred (Washington-Gregory) Willis, of "Willis Hill." (See Washington lineage.) Issue by first marriage: 4--1. John, served with distinction as 1st Lieut. of 1st Va. Reg., Revolutionary War, d. unto. 4--2. Elizabeth, m. William Green, of Culpeper Co., son of William and -- (Coleman) Green, of Culpeper Co., Va., and had issue. Hi Jo Orvik! Thanks you so much for posting all the information about the Green families! I hope you were able to scan this data and did not have to type all that you have posted. For over 30 years various members of my family have attempted to identify the parents of William Green, born February 6, 1762 in Prince Edward County, Virginia. My efforts have been to work "down," in that I have attempted to identify all Greens that came to Virginia prior to 1750 and track their descendants down, in hopes of finding the parents of my William Green. For this reason, I am most interested in the data that you posted, because there is always some new info that I don't have. In the case of the above portion of one of your messages, I had not seen the name of the second wife of Duff Green before. Could you please tell me where you found the name of Ann Waller the daughter of Col. Benjamin Waller? The other new info. in your posting concerns Elizabeth Green, the child of Duff Green and his first wife. Apparently Elizabeth married her first cousin, William Green, the son of Col. William Green and his wife Ann Coleman. I'm sure you know that Col. William Green was the oldest son of Robert Green, born 1695. Col. William Green married Ann Coleman the daughter of Francis Coleman and his wife Hannah Johnston. I did not know that the children of these two brothers had married. Thank you for that new info. I notice you show the name of Duff Green's first wife was Miss. Barbour, and she was the mother of Elizabeth Green mentioned above. Do you have any additional info about Miss. Barbour? I have seen this name before, but have also seen the name Miss. Thomas as the first wife of Duff Green. Any additional info you might have about this family would be greatly appreciated! I do not know if I am related to the Robert Green family or not, but would appreciate any help you might be able to provide to identify the parents of my William Green. Merry Christmas, Tom Green
