    2. In a message dated 98-10-21 09:57:12 EDT, you write: << I did/do not know about a Lewis Green who inherited land from William Green of the Seagull Family. Can you tell me a little bit ???? >> Hi David, I don't have all my records with me so I may not get this correct, but as I recall, the land on the Horsepen Creek in Amelia County, Virginia was owned by William Green, the son of Thomas "Seagull" Green, who married Amey Clay. When he died in 1727 his eldest son, Thomas Green became the guardian for his siblings, and inherited the 750 acre Horsepen Creek land. As I recall, Thomas Green died in 1792 and left this land to his son, Thomas Green (1735-1794) who married Martha Coleman. Over the years this land became owned by siblings, and William Green (son of William and Amey Clay Green) who in 1768 married his first cousin Obediance Green, (the daughter of Col. Abraham Green), also died in 1792. This couple had no children, and William had bought his sibling's interest in the Horsepen Creek land. When this William Green died, five of his nephews inherited the land, and a Lewis Green inherited 1/5 of the land as "heir-at-law" and this is the Lewis Green I am attempting identify. I have found two or three of the 5 nephews but have not found a Lewis Green as one of them. We can assume that this Lewis Green would have been at least age 21 in 1792, so he was born about 1772 or before. We are dealing with the generation that were the grandchildren of William and Amey Clay Green, so I ASSUME we are looking for a child named Lewis Green who was the son of either Thomas and Martha Green; William and Martha Green Williamson; Edward and Amey Green Moseley; Filmer and Ann Green; William and Obediance Green; or John and Mildred Davis Green. I have not been able to identify a child of any of these siblings named Lewis Green, but did get an E-Mail saying that Filmer and Ann Green had a son named Lewis Green. I will post this info to the list so the others can correct my mistakes and add to the story. Tom Green
