Below is the info in my notes on Lewis Green, son of Filmer, son of William. Upon William's death, his widow, Amey Claye, quickly remarried and there was a nasty custody battle in the local court. Most likely this was prompted by attempts to control the significant inheritance of his children, all of whom were minors. I believe that the Thomas who was awarded custody was not William's son but was his elder brother Thomas. Another of William's brothers, Abraham, was Justice of the Court and a local squire. The William who eventually got the property married his daughter, Obedience. Filmer moved to Tennessee. Charley Green "Lewis Green, by deed made in Granville County, NC, conveyed his rights to the property lying on the east side of Green's Road in Amelia County. This was described as a 1/5 part of the estate of William Green dec'd. The conveyance was made to William Green (his brother)."
