Recently a Green lister was kind enough to respond to my postings regarding the question of whether Christopher Green of Fiskill, Dutchess County, New York, who appears in a 1732 baptism at Fishkill Dutch Reformed Church with "Elizabeth van Denmark", or in another version of these Fishkill records, "Elizabeth DerMark" as the child's mother, was the same man as Christopher Greene of Rhode Island,frequently shown with wife "Elizabeth Denmark". This lister quoted several passages to the effect that a Greene author by the name of SEARS, who published a book in 1903, was of the opinion that Christopher Greene indeed married a woman by the name of Elizabeth Denmark, but died without issue, based on the fact that, while Christopher was the eldest of his wealthy father's issue, the next son in line, Daniel, inherited, and that in the 1757 will of Job Greene, Christopher's father, a silver cup that "had belonged to Christopher" was left to somebody else. I am trying to locate that book. The person who sent me the information would, or could, not give me the full citation, but said he had purchased his copy of the book from Higginson. What follows is a list of Green/Greene books available from Higginson Books Company, and I do not see an author named SEARS among them. Is anyone else on this list familiar with the 1903 work of Mr. Sears on the Rhode Island Greenes? If so, would you can you send me the citation of his book so that I can try to locate it?
