I am looking for anything on the Davis Green Family that showed on the 1870 Coffee County, TN Census. Davis was a civil war veteran who served in: No. 1- Confederate Infantry, 44th Tennessee Mounted Infantry and 2- Confederate infantry, 44th Consolidated Regiment, Tennessee Infantry. The Census shows his family as the following: Davis Green age 45 Hulda Green age 45 Gideon Green age 18 Susan Green age 16 Nancy Green age 12 Mary Green age 10 Tampy Green age 7 William Green age 5 I find no other listings of the family anywhere before or after this Census. I have heard through oral family history that part of the family moved to Arkansas abt 1896/7. Have seen postings on the geneology.com forum that Mary Green married a George Painter but cant get hold of the person that posted the item. William Edward Green is my Great Grandfather and he and his wife Susan Elizabeth Dunning Green both died in the 1930s and are buried in Glenwood, Arkansas.
