Speaking of the monied Greene's, I picked up a probate for Gardner Greene (from the Rockingham County, NH Probate office at Brentwood, reel 41 #12586), who d. 1833 in Boston. He willed his wife, Elizabeth Clarke Geene $20,000. Names are very hard to read by he mentions a sister-in-law Mary Copley, a niece Ann Reading Greene, a niece Lucretia? Chandler, wife of Peter Gardiner Chandler, niece _____ Rose Smith, niece Lucretia Catherine Timmons? Blanshard, wife of Joshua P. Blanshard; "to Harry, my mulatto man now to be manumitted and to received $60 yearly," he refers to his friend the Honorable Samuel Hubbard, and several relatives names I just can't read. Does anyone recognize this family? Not my line!
