Hi I seem to be having my share of problems with FTM. My cousin gave me a cd with my family line on it, but I can't open it because I get this message--"The file you are loading is from a newer version of FTM and cannot be loaded. To upgrade call...." Newer versions of software cannot always support all the older releases of the same program. (Otherwise we wouldn't get as many cool new features!) One way around (assuming you'd rather not upgrade at this time) it is to see if your cousin can save the data to disk again in a format that's readable by your older program. If that won't work, your cousin can see if he/she has the ability to save the information in a more general format - a GEDCOM, perhaps? - that you can open in any program, regardless of version.
