Hello Listers Haven't seen so many Greens since - I don't know when! Might as well join in and add the little knowledge I have of mine. I have GEORGE JAMES GREEN as an Army Pensioner on my Grandmothers Wedding certificate on April 11th, 1911. He is my g Grandfather. The family as I knew it, came from the Woolwich/Plumstead area of London. I would love to know where George came from originally. I have a William Green who says in a 1823 land deed that he was a native of England. His son James was born in NB ca. 1801/2. William says he has 13 children, no mention of his wife's name. They were originally in Woodstock, York county until Carleton was separated out and Woodstock became a part of Carleton. Some of the sons were James, Nathan or Nathaniel, William and Benjamin. James married Mary Plummer ca. 1831. James and Mary had John, Albina, Darius, Barbara, Milton J., Mary, Levi, Eliza, Harriet and possibly a Marie. Does anyone have any information on this family? Working on the Green line is tedious due fact that the name is so common. I know it will be extremely difficult to find a John GREEN born so long ago in Ireland. Robert Robinson GREEN, born August 10, 1811 at Kettle Creek, Cumberland County, Kentucky. Parents are probably a Robert GREEN and wife Elizabeth. Father born England, mother born Georgia, as per 1880 census. Father appears to have died before 1830, mother remarried to Ebnezer Orne in southwestern Wisconsin around 1830. She lived until after 1850 and died in El Dorado County, California. Possible siblings are Benjamin, Catherine, Lon, Washington, and Reuben. Benjamin and Catherine were born in Kentucky prior to 1820, Reuben was born in Illinois about 1825. Some of these went to California in the 1850s. A possible sibling to the elder Robert GREEN is a Jane GREEN who married William MURLEY and lived near him in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Robert Robinson GREEN was in southwestern Wisconsin by July 4, 1832. He married twice, first to Cinderella FARMER, several children, the only one who survived to adulthood, Robert Allen GREEN, died in the Civil War. Robert Robinson GREEN's second wife was Nancy Jane ASHMORE. Eight children: James Stanford (Martha Jane WEBSTER), Albert Shelton (Henrietta BOWMAN), George Washington (Joanna PAINE), Eliza Caroline (James LEGRO, Jacob PACE), William Robert (Rhoda Jane MCGUIRE), Ida Edith (William ESLICK), Nancy Jeanette (Philip WALTER, John SKAIFE), and Raphael Samuel (Olive Ann CRANDALL). The first seven were born in Wisconsin , the last one in South Dakota. Robert Robinson GREEN and family moved to Union County, South Dakota in 1864. Hi everybody. My grandfather was Robert W(ashington) Green. MO, b abt. 1836 d unk. m Missouri Ellen Hainds b 1849 d 1926. MO Chariton Co.Clark Township. Robert had a sister and brother, Bettie (Elizaberh), and Charlie (Charles). These two, also marreid Hainds siblings. My brickwall is Robert W. Green. Family tradition says, Missouri by way of Kentucky and Virginia. 1880 census shows both parents as born in VA. Just putting my two cents worth. It's nice to see the list active again. Lloyd

Marion, John and Jeanetta all married Inman's in Saline Co. Ark. Daniel married a Susannah Ray in the 1870s. Daniel and Susannah are in the 1880 Hot Spring Co.
