I am looking person who email me sometime ago about John Green b abt 1800s m'd first ? and 2nd to Susana Linebaugh in Platte Co. MO in 1841 John died before 1850. There was Mrs. Susanna Green who married Isaac Pearson. On the 1850 Census she and Isaac are listed with Green children. Margaret, Lucreita, Benjamin and Joseph. There might have been another Green child John Green first family were Isaac and Elisha and two daughters. I think John was born in VA m'd first in GA and move to TN then later to Lafayette Co, MO and later died in Platte Co. MO I do have webpage for Green but John is my line and mystery but his brother Elisha and family are there. I know they had sister name Sarah (or Sarah Ann) They were three of 11 children and parents are unknown. Janet
Does anyone know if any of these Thomas Green's is the one who married Agnes Unknown and had children Nancy, John, Elisha, James, Sarah, Patience, Margaret, Joseph D., Thomas, Clara, George Newton. I am interest in Children that you listed. I have John, Elisha and Sarah who member family a family with 11 children what do know about them is here The birth fact may not be right. This was guess on my part. Elisha family I found in book but nothing on John for he died before 1850. www.geocities.com/janet_ariciu I am seeking information on Thomas Green b 1776 in VA. His wife Agnes Green and their children John Elisha Nancy Patience Joseph Georgia James Margaret Thomas Clara Elizabeth Sarah This is what I found on Amcestry.com I wonder if this John and Elisha and Sarah are my. My Green left GA/NC and move to Mo. Janet
I have the line of Nathaniel Green, b. 5 Jun 1720 at Haverhill, and wife Lucy Garfield in Worcester, Leicester, Concord, NH.
I wondered if anyone had any information on the Nathanial Greene family living in Talbot County, Maryland in the mid 1700's? Michelle

My lineage is also from John Louis Greene (my great grandfather) and his second wife Nancy Jane Snider (Kinnard). I have a great picture of John Louis Greene in his Civil War uniform in a frame with my father John Louis Greene as a Marine aviator standing with his Corsair in the early 1950's. Most of the older information I have was compiled from "Research of The Greene Family History" gathered by Alta M. (Mrs.. Fred O.) Greene in August of 1978 and copies made available to the family. Edna G. (Barrows) Mattson and Fred O. Greene, Sr. did the original research in the 50's. Later a cousin of theirs, Edith Greene, compiled a "book" with their research and some additional material. I have a copy of the this "book" although it has been recopied several times and of just acceptable quality (especially the pictures). I have now digitally saved this "book" and would be happy to provide you with a copy if you wish. Let me set it out: Lt. Thomas Greene b abt 1732 d abt 1780 had son Thomas Greene (wife Amy Kezee) father of Theodrick Greene father of John Louis Greene (second wife Nancy Jane Snider (Kinnard)) father of William McKinley Greene father of John Louis Greene who is my father I have recently been in touch with John Louis Greene son of Columbus Greene son of Marion Greene son of John Louis Greene & Evaline Edgmon (first marriage). He sent me his GED.com file and it fits very well with some minor date a spelling differences. I quized my uncle Willima (Don) Greene about the spelling of his grand father John Louis (Lewis) Greene. He assured me that it was Louis as he say him spell it Louis in his own hand. Amy Keesee was Kezee in the "book" given to me but I tend to think Keesee is the correct version. Any thoughts on that? Do you know anything about Nancy Jane Snider (Kinnard). I have that John Snider was her father? Is the Kinnard a first marriage? I have taken to collecting as much information as possible on one Greene family branch (John Louis Greene & Nancy Jane Snider) before the remaining living resources are gone and have not really started researching the geneaology. If you have any information that you think might be useful, please send it my way. I would be happy to provide you with any assistance. Several months ago I offered to copy for interested researchers James W. Hagy's thesis on the frontier settlement of Castle's Woods, Virginia. I had searched for many long years before finding an actual copy of this work at a rare book dealer in North Carolina. This thesis was presented to the Faculty of the Department of History, East Tennessee State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Master of Arts, 1966. The original thesis contained no copyright provision as did the 1979 Russell County Historical Society printing which contained landowner maps and local Russell county info. that did not appear in the 1966 version. This one unfortunately can not be copied. I thought I was done with this project but recently have received a number of additional requests for this material so I have decided to make ONE more printing and then retire from the copying business. For all of those folks who for one reason or another failed to secure a copy of this work, this is the last chance. "This thesis is a narrative account of the frontier settlement of Castle's Woods. The community is an interesting case study of the ideas of Frederick Jackson Turner regarding the frontier. Castle's Woods in many ways fits the pattern of the typical frontier community. Apparently first settled by a long hunter, Castle's Woods, like a magnet, drew westward the classic frontier types, hunters, farmers, speculators, surveyors, artisans, and preachers. Even some aristocrates settled there. The usual frontier customs and activities were observed in the community. These included a considerable amount of lawlessness. The greatest problem for the settlers in Castle's Woods was the Indians who were a menace from the time of the first settlement until nearly the end of the eighteenth century. After the Indian problem had been eliminated, the frontier stage quickly passed away...... A large amount of primary materials were used in this study. The most important sources were county records, state archives, national archives, and the Draper Manuscripts." The importance of Castle's Woods is twofold. First, it had its day of importa nce as a stepping stone to the West. Secondly, it is important as a case study of the American frontier. It was the first permanent settlement in Russell County, Virginia, founded in 1769 and located on the Clinch River. Many of the early southwest Virginia families are discussed in detail including Russell, Walker, Cowan, Porter, Moore, Campbell, Stuart, Houston, Montgomery, Snoddy, Thompson, Robinson and many, many more. Detailed accounts of many of the Indian battles are described in great detail and this research material makes interesting reading. If anyone would like information on how to acquire a copy of this 140 page thesis please contact me privately at [email protected] Regards, Robert Cowan 525 Harrogate Rd. Hi. I need to know if anyone has information about the Green(e) family in Roane County, TN in the 1850s. Specifically, if anyone knows the pedigree or descendancy of the Marvel Green who married Mare E. Woods in 1854 there. I am looking for a second marriage for my ancestor Marvel who liked to move around a lot and I'm interested in this marriage for him but don't want to get off on the wrong foot. Thanks, Emily Jackson

I got a nasty letter from the list owner that I was not to discuss anything but geneology on this list. I recieved the virus falsely headed it was from the list, and from a list member so I was only trying to be a "good neighbor" and warn fellow list members so that a disaster to someones pc could be avoided.I never thought I would get a "shut up and stick to geneology " warning for my efforts. I'm sorry that i offended the list owner by trying to be helpful. Since helping fellow listers is not permitted,I will stick to keeping my list mail to my Green family .I hope the warning did help some who may have been sent the file. Billie C. With all the viruses floating around right now I scan my pc each night. It says I am virus free, but that doesn't mean anything. I checked my email, and it did not send anything out about Green Brickwalls. Just trying to make sure that the D-Green that emailed you wasn't me. I do know there are other D Greens out there. Hi List, Does anyone out there happen to have any information on Abendego Green Sr. and his family? I believe he was born in Maryland in 1780, but that's basically all of the information that I have, so if anyone could share what they have, I would really appreciate the help. Thank you for any time and trouble you may go through on my behalf.
