Hello List, Thanks for all of your replies and interest. I have been trying to find out if a great grandfather of mine served in WW1, he was British, living in England and have found nothing. On his death certificate, 1970, it was noted that he had had scarlet fever in childhood so I thought that it may have left him unfit for service, your replies seem to confirm that. Thanks again, Ian
