    3. I am researching men who were with the 1/5th and 2/5th Bn RWF and others who were with the 5th Bn RWF. Are they three seperate regiments or regarding the latter have they just left out the 1st or 2nd? Regards Peter

Hello Peter, Basically what happened with all regiments was that as they duplicated the # Battalion became the 1/# Bn and its duplicate became 2/# Bn with the 3/# Bn feeding them as they depleted, some regiments duplicated much more say like the 7/# Bn... So in short the answer you seek is that the 5th Bn became the 1/5th Bn.
