    3. I am new to this list, and I wonder if any one can advise me please. Is there a web site where I can find maps of the location of War Cemeteries? I am particularly interested in Heely Station Cemetery, I think it is in France. My Grand Father was killed in the war, but I have now discovered he had five brothers who survived, is there any way of finding out line if my great uncles enlisted or were conscripted? If any one can help I will be extremely grateful Ted Southwick

    3. Hello Edward, My gt. uncle was Pte E G Vaux MM, 2nd Middlesex Regiment and he is buried at Heilly Station. He was wounded 1st July,1916 and died on the 12th July. All the Headstones for that period commemorate more than one man. In my gt uncle's case there are 3 men. It was very quiet when I was there in the winter of 2004. Edward, if you post the name of your g'father and his brothers, maybe someone could help you out with a bit more information. 3. Hi Ted, I don't know where you are but in Canada there is an online resource for Canadian soldiers of WW1. If you're fortunate enough to be dealing with Canadians go to http://www.collectionscanada.ca/02/02010602_e.html The Attestation papers (papers at joining the CEF) are digitized and online and the full service record is available for about 30 dollars canadian (depending on the number of pages) follow the link available on this website to find out more about that. Take Care Sue

    3. Ted I was most recently at Heilly Station a couple of months ago. I've put a photo of the cemetery (a general view) on my website and it can be found here: http://www.resthepast.co.uk/images/DSC_0393.jpg Hope this is of interest. What was your grandfather's name? 3. Dear Mike, Thank you very much for the photo of the cemetary at Helly. My own Grandfather was killed at Juebbulpore, India in July 1917. He is commemorated on the Kirkee Memorial, although I have been told a memorial stone erected at Juebbulpore is probably still standing. I am interested in his nephew George Bennett who died in France in 1916 and is buried at Theipval I think. My interest in Heilly station is that my sister plans to visit the battlefields with a friend, one of who's relatives is buried at Heilly Station. Sorry if my original message was a bit misleading, I do realise that it is a long way from India to France. Many thanks for you help Ted ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Shingleton" <shinglma_64@btopenworld.com> To: "EDWARD SOUTHWICK" <ted.southwick@btinternet.com> Cc: <GREATWAR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, December 09, 2006 1:31 PM Subject: Re: [GREATWAR] War Cemetaries > Ted > > I was most recently at Heilly Station a couple of months ago. > > I've put a photo of the cemetery (a general view) on my website and it > can be found here: > > http://www.resthepast.co.uk/images/DSC_0393.jpg > > Hope this is of interest.
