Can anyone help with the likely interval of time between a recommendation for the award of the Military Medal and the Gazetted notice? The idea is to attempt to search the appropriate war diary for some indication as to the possible events/action leading to the award? If it helps with comments on this the date I am interested in is November 1916 , guessing that the time lag could be partly dependant on the amount of activity at the time. Many thanks Pam Gardner

Pam Normally about 2-3 months. I've had good results looking at the war diaries for such entries. Good luck in your research.
