Hello Carolynn, Its the 24th battalion of the London Regiment - there were actually two battalion 1/24th and 2/24th. The former was raised at Lambeth and the latter at neighbouring Southwark. His home address is given on his service record as South Street, Kennington. As to where they served its a bit academic really as Cecil Stangroome never served overseas - his service record says 'home service' from 31/07/1915 to 20/05/1916 (I got the latter year wrong in my previous e-mail). He was discharged because he lied about his age, claiming to be 19 years old at the time of his attestation in 1915. At the time of his discharge in 1916 he was stationed in Winchester.
