Was there a standard procedure in the handling and processing of returning British POW's after the 1918 Armistice? Specifically, I have reason to believe my dad Pte William Travis, 12th Manchesters, was captured during Ludendorfe's March 1918 offensive. I am wondering what might have happened to him between his immediate return and his discharge in December 1919. When would he have been released from the German POW camp? Sent home and reassigned? Immediately returned to his unit still serving in France and Belgium? Anybody have any knowledgeable insights? gordontravis@sbcglobal.net
