Hello, I am trying to help a friend of mine find more information about her grandfather, Samuel Alexander Bacon, and his military service. I have found the medal card, which indicates he was part of the RAMC, which we had assumed from speaking with his daughter. However, we would like to try and figure out in what capacity he served. His daughter only knows "he was a nurse". But according to this site (http://www.1914-1918.net/ramc.htm) he could have served on a Field Ambulance, a Casualty Clearing Station, or a hospital on the western front. Having obtained the medal card, what is the next step to learning more about his service? His rank is listed as PTE, Regt No 58399. Thanks for any and all suggestions!
