    3. Hi Janice, There is a strong chance that your ancestor was interned. Many people with clearly German names, but with no sympathy for the Nazi cause, were rounded up and interned for the duration of the war as the authorities felt they could have been fifth columnists. A good number of them were held in a well known camp on the Isle of Man.
