May I make a request to members wishing to unsubscribe? Please make sure you follow the procedure carefully in sending the word 'subscribe' to the correct address (GREATWAR-L-request@rootsweb.com). Additionally, please remember which address you used when you subscribed and use the same one to unsubscribe. If you do all this correctly and still receive the message 'You have not been removed, you are not on the list', yet you continue to receive list mail, the most likely answer is that your email provider has changed the syntax of your address. Not your fault, not the list's fault & certainly not my fault. In this case you should email me - listing all your email addresses past & present - and I will help you. PLEASE bear in mind that 'You have not been removed...' is an AUTOMATIC message. I did not compose it nor can I control it and I am not responsible for the content. Therefore messages with unpleasantly sarcastic and/or aggressive additions are deeply resented and my help will NOT be forthcoming. I am not willfully sending mail to people who do not want it and do not appreciate receiving such mail. This is of course directed at a very few people. Most people who have difficulty unsubscribing email me politely and I never mind requests for help, however simple or complex. I apologise for the tone of this message to the vast majority who understand how to conduct themselves in a civil manner.
