I located the P.O.W. records for Andrew Curry on this site and was shocked to learn that he was sent to Camp Douglas, here in Chicago, in August 1863. Still confused about whether or not Hugh fought with Morgan in 1863. His son Lee believed he did, and Hugh named his first son born after the war, in 1865, Hugh Morgan Curry. I have the photos of the other Currys you mention. Have never seen a picture of John W. Curry's foundry. My great-aunt told me that Dennis Long cheated John out of his foundry somehow, and that there was bad blood between them. I have a very old title abstract (c. 1885) for a property on South 8th Street between Main & Market that was among Lee's papers. In pencil on the front of it is written "Got from Long." Have no idea its significance. I would love to contact Mr. Gerlach and the others you mention. Thanks for the offer to put me in touch. I began researching my family history when I was seventeen years old. I'm now 44 and amazed at how quickly I can gather data and do research. It used to require long hours in libraries and historical societies to unearth a fragment here and there. Thanks again for the info. Best, Steven L.
