George came over earlier, probably before 1909. His wife's name was Margaret. She too arrived in 1909. Here is what I pulled from Ellisisland.org Margaret Ann Grainger, 25, married, born Spennymoor, of Spennymoor, to join George Grainger husband, Rend City, IL children Mary 2, Robert James 20 months born Spennymoor, English, English, last relative, Father, Robert Minto (??? Old handwriting, abbrev for ?) 20 Bishop Close Cottages, Spennymoor His sister Mildred married Thomas Lennon, in Durham. She too immigrated. She was born though in Falls Creek or False Creek, PA about 1888 or 1889. She was resident however of Durham, England. She said her last relative was her mother, Mary. This was in 1920 when Mildred went home to visit. The address, 12 Arthur Street, Spennymoor They could have easily all have been born Derbyshire. The family was definitely in the coal mining business.
