Janet "Jessie" Grainger was born, possibly, 1814, in Peebleshire to Thomas Grainger and Mary/Marion Paisley. Jessie married John Scougal about 1837 and the banns were announced in both Innerleithen, Peebles, Scotland and Lasswade, Midlothian, Scotland. I don't think Jessie's father is the famous Thomas Grainger, railroad engineer, but he was born about the same time, 1792. I'd like to hear from Grainger and Paisley family researchers.
