I'm trying to gather information on the above named John Gra(i)nger. According to his army records he was born in Lesmahagow but I've been unable to find any records confirming this. I have him in later census records being born in Lanark. We know that later in life he married a Hannah Rooks (nee Richardson) but we think he may have been married earlier and from that marriage a Catherine Gra(i)nger was born about 1843-4.
