I'm not hard to convince:o) ~~~~~~~~~~~WELCOME TO THE GRAINGER MAILING LIST~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please, print and/or save this email message for future reference. WHAT IS THE GRAINGER MAILING LIST? Grainger. A mailing list for the discussion and sharing of information regarding the Grainger surname, or any variations (e.g., Granger, etc.), it's lore and history, any place and at any time. POSTING MESSAGES TO THE GRAINGER LIST... Send your email to: GRAINGER-L@rootsweb.com The address is the same for both the mail mode and the digest mode. You do not have to send it to both. Please post anything related to the Grainger surname, history, lore and/or family traditions. Let us see your brickwalls, lost and found ancestors. It would be beneficial to all of us. HERE ARE A FEW GUIDELINES... 1. Profanity of any kind will not be tolerated. 2. Flaming will not be tolerated. You are welcome to totally express your opinion, but do it nicely and not at the expense of another individual. 3. Turn off HTML and RTF. 4. File attachments may not be sent to this list. If you have something to share, copy and paste it into your email message. If it is larger than 10K, divide it up and send it in several messages, marking each section, part 1, part 2, etc. 5. No one is to take information from this list for ANY purpose other than genealogy or historical research. Names and addresses posted here are not to be included in mailing lists or used to solicit sales of any kind. 6. The copyright to all posts made on the Grainger List, belong to the composer. Although we all share what we have learned, quotes for publication, etc., require the permission of the writer. 7. If you are going to fully quote someone's post, please make sure that you do just that. Don't quote the headers or tag lines. Write your response ABOVE the quote. This is only common courtesy to those that receive the digest version and have to wade through all the junk to find your post. HERE ARE A FEW SUGGESTIONS... Please reply TO THE LIST, as it may be pertinent information to someone else. The settings for this list are currently set to reply to the sender. To reply to the list, simply move your cursor to the beginning of the address in the TO: section, delete the sender's address and insert the list address. ...GRAINGER-L@rootsweb.com Please post your surnames and brickwalls monthly. This is for the benefit of you, as well as, new subscribers. Read the tag lines at the bottom of each message posted to the list, they will lead you to more information (resources) and keep you informed. We all have the time to take a few seconds to glance at them. NEED HELP? If you need help with something, contact me, the list administrator. Stephanie Spaulding Grainger List Administrator GRAINGER-admin@rootsweb.com If you need help and cannot get me, or you are having trouble with the list, contact Pam Cresswell. <pam@cresswells.com> IF YOU HAVEN'T PRINTED AND/OR SAVED THIS EMAIL MESSAGE, PLEASE DO SO NOW! ---------------- You are currently subscribed in "mail mode," which means that you will receive every posting made to GRAINGER as a separate e-mail. The directions on how to change to digest mode are given below. 1. How to unsubscribe. Send a message to GRAINGER-L-request@rootsweb.com that contains (in the body of the message) the command unsubscribe and no additional text. 2. How to subscribe. Whatever you just did worked, or you'd not be getting this message. But for future reference (for instance, if your subscription is canceled for whatever reason and you want to resubscribe), just send the command "subscribe" to GRAINGER-L-request@rootsweb.com. 3. How to change to digest mode (several postings are combined and sent to you together as a single large message). There are two steps. First, send the command "unsubscribe" to GRAINGER-L-request@rootsweb.com to discontinue mail mode. Second, send the command "subscribe" to GRAINGER-D-request@rootsweb.com to start receiving digests. 4. How to change to NOMAIL mode. There is no formal NOMAIL mode. All you have to do is follow the directions above and unsubscribe when you want the messages to stop, and then when you want them to start again, simply subscribe again. 5. If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing list receives it, just send it to GRAINGER-L@rootsweb.com. It will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't need to send it explicitly to both. For your verification, a transcript of the original subscription request is included below. --
