Supposedly his land was near Castle Creek. One of my ancestors mentions in a letter that he lived "betwein Mr. Grainger and Mother Bennetts plantation, neere Castle Creek." I'm trying to find out just where that area is located. Does anyone know who this "Mr. Grainger is/was? I would be most grateful for any help you can give me. Mae Cox in Oklahoma

One other probable sibling was Charlotte Grainger, married January 1 1791 in Dorecester County MD to William Medford. A James Grainger, married to Nelly Thomas, could be yet another sibling. The 1810 census shows an "Elener Granger" (age 16-26 (born 1784-1794), with 4 other males and 4 other females living with her - seven of whom are under age 16 (born 1784-1810) and one older than her (a male born 1765-1784).

I'm trying to gather information on the above named John Gra(i)nger. According to his army records he was born in Lesmahagow but I've been unable to find any records confirming this. I have him in later census records being born in Lanark. We know that later in life he married a Hannah Rooks (nee Richardson) but we think he may have been married earlier and from that marriage a Catherine Gra(i)nger was born about 1843-4. Any help with this family would really be appreciated. Kind regards, Dave
