    3. If you get 2 copies - sorry - this bounced back to me ... S Thanks to the internet, Gary Williams and Bob Winn, I've accumulated some information on this illusive Ray Harry Goren. I have just written to the Foust Funeral Home in Grapevine TX and am hoping they will reply. I found the obituary for Samuel Gideon Goren and am going to print it here - which will confirm that Ray Goren was the son of Samuel Gideon Goren - I just have a spare wife! 4 May 1959 issue of Denton Chronicle News. "Rites Set for Ex-County man. Lake Dallas (Staff) - Funeral services for Samuel Gideon Goren of Euless, a former long-time resident of Argyle, were to be held today at 4 p.m. in the Lake Dallas Baptist Church. The Rev. Eugene Brink of Carrolton was to officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Naugher, pastor of the Lake Dallas Church. Interment was to be in Old Hall Cemetery near Lewisville. Foust Funeral Home in Grapevine is in charge of arrangements. A native of Warren County, Ky [note born in Barren, family moved to Bowling Green in Warren Co early], Mr. Goren had lived in Argyle for 12 years prior to his move to Euless a year ago. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Christian Church. Survivors include his wife [Winney/Winiford]; one daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Shearer of Euless ; one son, RAY GOREN of Bonham; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Reynolds of Van Alystyne [step-sister?]; two brothers, John Goren of Farmers Branch [John Rogers Goren] and Charlie Magers of Lubbock [step-brother]; one granddaughter and one great grandson." Samuel Gideon is buried at the above named cemetery - 8 June 1876 - 3 May 1959. Buried beside him is his wife, Winnie Vinson Goren, 22 Sept 1899 - 12 Dec 1993. I cannot find her obituary or where they were married. Ray Harry Goren was a veteran of WWI, and died at the Veteran's Hospital in Bonham. That hospital is still open; I don't know if they will release records or not. Ray died 19 Oct 1962 and is buried at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Grayson. There is no spouse or other Goren's shown buried in this cemetery. I can only find him on one census record with Samuel and a Maggie Goren (she's the spare wife!) with his sister cited above and a brother Ross. I can find nothing on Ross; he either died young or Ross was not his first name. I will let you know if the funeral home writes/e-mails me back, if not - perhaps Gary - you can visit there, they will let you see the information - at least they do in KY! If any of you in TX have access to more records - help is appreciated. I cannot find any marriage records on Samuel Gideon Goren - they lived in KY, IL, KS and TX and, until their move to TX had close connections with "our" Henry Gorin line so they knew they were related tho the name was spelled differently! I'm also still trying to find Samuel Gideon's brothers William and Joshua Gorin/Goren - Gary has a photo of all the brothers and it appears to have been taken when they were in their 20's-30's - but Joshua and William just disappear.
