    3. It's been a long time since I've posted anything to this list; as you are aware, my daughter Kris is going through some rough times with kidney failure - my mind has been elsewhere. But, a local friend who is very distantly related to the Gorin clan was in Greensburg KY last week and while there, photocopied some obituaries for me. I am going to post all three, likely in two or more emails. Source: The Green County Record, Greensburg, KY, Thursday, May 30, 1912 page 4, column 2. "DIED. Capt. William F. Gorin died at the home of his son-in-law, D. P. Turner near Greesnsburg, Ky., May 25, 1912. Capt. Gorin, was one of our oldest and most highly respected citizens. He was a model gentleman who was loved by everyone who knew him. He was honorable, honest, and true as a friend, was kind and agreeable with everybody. The writer does not remember to ever have heard any one speak of him except in the highest terms, and never heard him speak ill of any one. He was a kind, affectionate and loving husband and father, and enjoyed to a high degree the association of his children and grand-children, all of whom were kind and loving to him. He was born, November 1837 and was married to Miss Elizabeth Jamerson [sic Jameson] Sept. 10, 1860, who survives him. To this union were born five girls and two boys all of whom survive him and all are married, he is also survived by several grand-children and three brothers, S. T. Gorin of this place; J. H. of Rowletts, Ky.; G. W., of Leitchfield [sic Litchfield], Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. M. B. Perry, of Webbs, Ky., Mrs. Ella O. Noe, of Port Arthur, Tex., Mrs Sallie J. Inmen [sic Inman], of Port Arthur, Tex. Capt. Gorin enlisted in the Federal army in the fall of 1861, and served through the war and was mustered out after the fall of Richmond and the close of the war. He enterd the army as a 2d Lieutenant in the 2d Kentucky Cavalry, and was mustered out as a Captain in the 26th Kentucky Infantry. He was a true G. A. R. man and great friend to an old soldier. Capt. Gorin was elected to the Kentucky Legislature in 1881 and served one term, and was an intelligent and useful member. He was buried in the Cemetery at Greensburg, Ky., by the Masonic Fraternity, and his remains were followed to his last resting place by a large concourse of relatives and friends of whom he had many. Peace to his soul. A. Friend." Sandi Col. Sandi Gorin - GORIN worldconnect website: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~sgorin
